# 'List' endpoints in Machines API now support pagination

The Machines API has three 'List' endpoints, allowing you to list your [machines](https://docs.fly.io/api/machines/machines/list-machines), [volumes](https://docs.fly.io/api/machines/volumes/list-volumes), and [apps](https://docs.fly.io/api/machines/apps/list-apps). These endpoints work fine when retrieving a couple hundred machines. Or even a thousand. But they work less fine when retrieving, say, a million machines because it takes time to compile the full list and send it back to the client, and many clients don't even need the full list.

To make this easier, we added cursor-based pagination to all three endpoints. The [Machines API documentation](https://docs.fly.io/api/machines) has all the details. Pagination is opt-in (you have to provide the `limit` and/or `cursor` query parameters), so existing requests work as before.
